Have strong beliefs, but never settle questioning them.

Why

This I take to be the foundations of dogmatism: the idea that your strong beliefs should also apply at any cost to other people as well. No, not necessarily.

Sometimes I don’t stand strongly about something. I believe chocolate cookies are inferior to toll house cookies, but it’s not a strong belief. Elevating it to a strong belief might not be a good thing.

Trivial matters shouldn’t be required to be supported by strong beliefs.
