Why
If left to our own devices - if we were left to make our own decisions about our own bodies, and if we were not forced to listen to religious driven propaganda, our world would be a peaceful one. My sins are my own - they are none of anyone's business.

What if you assault or murder someone? Or speak ill of someone? Even negative thoughts about another person have subtle unconscious consequences. I disagree that your sins are your own. They involve everyone and everything around you.
