We can only establish our ideas of truth based on our inherently fallible senses. It doesn't accomplish anything to pretend we know more than we do, but "absolute" truth is also trivial: it can't affect us beyond our senses.
I defer to Carl Sagan: "Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves."
No person influences the situation into which they're born. It simply makes no sense to disadvantage some as a result of their parents' positions, regardless of whether or not those positions are "deserved."
